Playstation 4 Slim Confirmed, And It Boots Up Just Fine
The Playstation 4 Slim, the slimmed-down version of 2013’s Playstation 4, has now been almost confirmed. The console had previously been leaked to exist, but now we have confirmation from Eurogamer that the console does indeed exist. Previously, the console had been leaked onto the auction website Gumtree, where it was bought by an auctioneer.
The Playstation 4 Slim was originally supposed to be officially revealed at a September 7 event in New York City where a number of other Playstation devices and content would be officially announced, such as the Playstation 4 Neo. However, since the Slim has now been confirmed, we don’t know how Sony will react.
The Playstation 4 Slim was supposed to be released shortly after the event in New York, later in September. This leaves it to come out several weeks after Microsoft had already released the Xbox One S, the slim version of their own console the Xbox One. While Playstation 4 Neo and Xbox One Scorpio have yet to have official announcements, they’ll both likely be released early in 2017 and be more expensive than the vanilla consoles.
The Xbox One S and Playstation 4 Slim is likely also going to be cheaper than the Playstation 4 and the Xbox One, fitting their slimmed-down, more compact designs. Though it’s likely they won’t be any less powerful, it’s still a more economical option for people that have limited space or limited funds but still want an Xbox One or Playstation 4.
It’s likely that the Playstation 4 Slim that was auctioned on Gumtree may very be a fake, or an employee of Playstation is about to be in very big trouble for not only leaking something early online, but also attempting to sell it before it was released.
Either way we’ll just have to wait until later in September to actually legitimately learn what all the Playstation 4 Slim has available. In the meantime, take a look at the pictures above to see what it looks like.
