New FIFA 17 Ultimate Team Features Revealed by EA Sports
EA Sports’s contribution to Gamescom today was to detail the new FIFA 17 Ultimate Team features that would be coming with the game mode when FIFA 17 released later this September. Ultimate Team is a way for you to build your dream team of football players, and challenge other teams online in exchange for rewards.
To start off with, the new FIFA 17 Ultimate Team features include the FUT Champions bracket. There, you can compete with other players in daily knockout tournaments. Winning these can qualify you for the weekend league, and from there you can start on a climb up the monthly leaderboards in the game.
The FUT Champions game mode, along with the Squad Builder challenges (where you build a football team with some parameters like only being allowed to choose from two countries), help you gain in-game prizes such as kits for other teams, in-game currency, and packs.
In addition to those two modes, the new FIFA 17 Ultimate Team features also include a number of exclusive Legends players for Xbox One owners. This year they include Marc Overmars, Paul Scholes, Jamie Carragher, Alessandro del Piero, Ole Gunnar Solskjær, Carlos Puyol, Juan Sebastian Veron, Emmanuel Petit, Rio Ferdinand, and Luis Hernandez.
The new FIFA 17 Ultimate Team features also include special kits (like one based on the merch of the band Kasabian), and the ability for you to download your Ultimate Team off of the game and put it up against local or online opponents.
This can actually come in handy considering that EA Sports is also getting the game into the eSports scene with the FIFA Ultimate Team Championships. Players can qualify for the championship through the weekly events, and eventually compete against one another for a 1.3 million dollar prize.
FIFA 17 is set to release on September 27, so we at least don’t have much longer to wait.
