PlayStation Meeting Predictions: What Should be Expected?
PlayStation Meeting is just around the corner and hopes are that it would reveal more than expected. Both in terms of hardware and video games that are in development.
Sony is hosting this event in New York on September 7 and although there is not much to go on right now, we believe we can fairly predict what could happen at PlayStation Meeting, so let’s get right to it.
PlayStation 4 Neo Reveal
For months, we have heard nothing but rumors and speculations about PlayStation 4 Neo. The console is a powerhouse that can run games at 4K. Of course, we don’t really know if it would do so natively. We were expecting the machine to be present at E3 2016 but just days before the event, Sony confirmed that PlayStation 4 Neo won’t be shown at E3.
The next possible candidate was PlayStation Experience but it looks like Sony don’t wish to wait that long. The company announced PlayStation Meeting for September 7 and interestingly enough, just days before its announcement rumors started to circulate that Sony is planning an event to reveal PlayStation 4 Neo.
It is safe to say that PlayStation 4 Neo will indeed be at PlayStation Meeting on September 7.
Time to Go Valhalla
God of War 4 is a major game for PlayStation 4 and at E3 2016, we got to see the new direction the franchise took. God of War is now a more mature and relatable franchise. We saw a decent chunk of it at E3 2016 and it looks like the game is quite far into development.
We are yet to hear of a release date or release window at least and that is exactly what we should expect at PlayStation Meeting.
Along with PlayStation 4 Neo announcement, there are chances that we may hear of a PS4 Neo version of God of War 4 and a release date for the game. Of course, new gameplay is a given if they plan to bring it to PlayStation Meeting.
PlayStation Vita Trinity
Project Morpheus, PlayStation 4 Neo and now PlayStation Vita Trinity.
Rumor has it that Sony is working on a PlayStation Vita Trinity, an upgraded version of PlayStation Vita. Some FCC documents are a pretty good indication that Sony is now only bringing a new console to the market but a Vita as well.
We may not see it at PlayStation Meeting but Sony would at least make an announcement.
The Dead in Red
Red Dead Redemption was going to be at E3 2016 even though Sony denied it. A reliable source claims that Sony pulled the game but it wasn’t clear why.
The prevailing theory is that the reveal trailer featured a shootout in a bar and due to what happened in Orlando days before E3, Sony thought it would not be appropriate to show the game.
If that is true, that footage would surely be scrapped and Sony would have asked Rockstar to work on a different trailer. Red Dead 3 or Red Dead Redemption 2 is most definitely in development has been for a long time. 2016 is the year when Rockstar reveal the project but will it be at PlayStation Meeting? We think it will.
We Reach Andromeda
People think Mass Effect: Andromeda has been revealed already and for a long time. But has it truly been revealed? What exactly have we been shown in the past two years? We have nothing but bits and pieces of Andromeda but we may finally get a decent chunk of it at PlayStation Meeting.
Proper gameplay footage along with details.
The Resident Evil Rises
At E3 2016, Sony announced a new Resident Evil game. A game that finally takes us back to the roots of survival horror and does so, in VR. Thanks to PlayStation VR we will get to experience one of the biggest franchises of all time in VR.
PlayStation VR is right around the corner and this seems like the perfect time to show its biggest game. Resident Evil 7 VR is yet to receive proper gameplay footage and details. We already know that the demo we saw at E3 will not be a part of the game. So, we need to see the actual Resident Evil 7 and hopefully, we will at PlayStation Meeting.
These were our predictions for Sony event but before you leave, do let us know of yours in the comments below.
