Battlefield 1 Gamescom Trailer Released Before the Show
The Battlefield 1 Gamescom trailer has been released a few days before the show starts, and in it we get to see a ton of combat in new arenas, new weapons, new vehicles, and of course tons of explosions, all set to Johnny Cash’s “God’s Gonna Cut You Down.”
While much of the focus of World War 1 is on the Western Front (the trenches of France), the new Battlefield 1 Gamescom trailer showed us a good amount of desert combat, with the British Army fighting against what appeared to be the Ottoman Empire. Along with all of the combat footage, we also get a running artillery battle between a number of tanks and an armored train that’s loaded with guns.
Along with the train and foot battles we also get a lot of footage that shows us what we can do with two other kinds of vehicles: horses and biplanes. While not the fighter jets and motorcycles and other vehicles we’ve gotten in previous Battlefield games, horses and biplanes still offer a lot of different dimensions to gameplay.
For instance, horses can offer a faster way to get around than running around on foot, and you can also use weapons while riding them. However, they’re likely to be a lot more vulnerable than an armored care, so you shouldn’t rely on them too much. World War 1 was the end of the organic variety of cavalry, after all.
Battlefield 1 will likely be getting a lot of attention at Gamescom, considering that it’s going to be coming out in October, only around two months away. With the new Battlefield 1 Gamescom trailer coming out to whet people’s appetites for playing the game, EA may have a very successful convention, especially if they grab more people’s attention than Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.
