According to Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick:

This quarter was a record quarter in large measure because of the unique capability we have as a company to create new franchises.

Overwatch is now trying to jump into eSports and Activision recently announced an Overwatch World Cup. Blizzard head Mike Morhaime stated:

We think Overwatch has strong potential as an eSport. The recently announced Overwatch World Cup … is a good first taste of that, but we’ll talking more about our Overwatch eSports plans later in the year.

The shooter is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. So if you think you are good and have any desire to participate in the world cup, grab a copy and start practicing.

On a related note, Blizzard has promised “crazy” new stuff for Overwatch. Although the game didn’t release with much content but lots of free stuff is on the way. Head over here to read more about that.
