New Mega Man Game In Development, Will Be Based On Upcoming Cartoon?
Ahhh glorious rumors, who would get gamers excited if rumors seized to exist in our daily life. Rumors have been around as long as humans have on this earth, and will stay around as long as humans. This time a rumor has emerged about that a Mega Man game is in the works.
According to The Mega Man Network, an inside source has told them that a Mega Man game is in the works, based on the cartoon series that itself is in development. According to the source new Mega Man game will be a 2D platformer that will feature gameplay like previous game, however, the game will feature high definition graphics.
Now here is the most interesting thing that “Man” will no longer be included in the name, and it will be replaced by names like Flare Symphony,” “Frostbite Sonata,” or “Saber Waltz” instead. Considering that “Man” have been attached to game for so long, it seems odd that developer would opt to replace it.
The source claims that the game will be a direct tie-in for the cartoon and will release on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
Speaking of the upcoming cartoon, back in May Mega Man’s new design was revealed, however, fans were divided about the looks. Hopefully, the cartoon series will do justice to the legacy of the games and the character.
Earlier this year Mighty No 9 was released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U, Microsoft Windows and Linux. There was quite a hype revolving around the game, but alas! it did not lived up to the fan’s expectations. Mighty No 9 got a negative reception with mediocre reviews, and soon after the game almost vanished from gamer’s minds.
Mighty No 9 was developed by Comcept in collaboration with Inti Creates, and published by Deep Silver. Initially Mighty No 9 was announced as a kickstarter campaign, however, later it was picked up by Deep Silver.
