Life Is Strange Episode 1 Is Available For Free
Dontnod Entertainment has just announced that Life Is Strange Episode 1 is available for free. The announcement comes with a short trailer to introduce the story and characters. Furthermore, the trailer is on the Playstation channel, but Life Is Strange Episode 1 will be free for all platforms. You also don’t need to be a Plus or Gold member to gain access. This promotion is not timed either.
Life is Strange is an episodic point and click adventure. Developed by Dontnod Entertainment, the game’s production began in April 2013.
The team therefore traveled to the Pacific Northwest to conduct research and subvert known archetypes to make the characters.
Rather than focus on point and click tropes, Life Is Strange focuses mostly on character arcs. The game’s highlight is the ability to rewind time. This mechanic allows players to redo any action that has been taken.
The premise is set in the fictional town of Arcadia Bay, Oregon. The plot follows Maxine Caufield’s life as a high school student. One day, Max discovers that she has the ability to rewind time at any moment. As a result, this leads to her every choice enacting the butterfly effect.
After foreseeing an impeding disaster, Max consequently must take on the responsibility to save her town. The player’s actions and decisions shape the story.
This leads to a few different end states. The fate of friends, family and the entire town more or less depend on you.
In conclusion, if you’re looking for a narrative driven experience, take a look at Life Is Strange Episode 1. Just yesterday, Minecraft Story Mode Episode 1 was apparently made free for 10 days on the Microsoft store.
As of now, Life Is Strange consists of 5 episodes that released throughout 2015. A second season seems inevitable due to the success of the original game. Perhaps this news is a precursor to an announcement.
Stay tuned for updates.
