Longetivety Sets Days Gone Apart from The Last of Us
At E3 2016 Sony announced a new brand IP, Days Gone. The title is a post apocalyptic third person zombie game.It is similar to The Last of Us but with Super Fast zombies and no shortage of bullets.
Comparison have been made with The Last of Us but Days Gone is a very different game. The Last of Us was linear and had no longevity. Although it is a masterpiece but it lacked longevity. Meanwhile, with Days Gone Sony Bend has longevity in mind.
Studio Director Chris Reese said “we have long term plans.” In fact, for Days Gone Sony’s bend has grown from 45 people to 103 developers. There are no plans to downsize the studio after the game is released. The success of this game will solidify Bend’s position in the game development world.
The budget of this game is kept under wraps but it is the biggest Sony Bend has ever worked with. The game is inspired by the likes of The Walking Dead tv show and Brad Pitt’s hit World War Z. Furthermore, the biker gang concept was influenced by “Sons of Anarchy.”
The Walking Dead + World War Z + Sons of Anarchy = Days Gone.
There is no release date for the game right now but we are expecting soon. The game looked in good shape so it should be long before the title is out in the market.
Days Gone is a PlayStation 4 exclusive.
Days Gone is an open-world action-adventure game set two years after a devastating global pandemic. Play as Deacon St. John, a bounty hunter facing a brutal struggle for survival, searching for a reason to live.
Sony is expected to share more about the game in the coming months.
