2K shows off Mafia III Accolades Trailer, Everything Looks Great
The Official Mafia Game Youtube channel has released Mafia III Accolades Trailer today. The trailer shows off what the press had to say about Mafia III’s impressive showing at E3 2016.
The trailer shows no gameplay footage but it certainly makes Mafia III’s presence known. It also demonstrates 2K’s confidence in “this fall’s most promising open world game”. I don’t mind that it’s the same trailer from E3 2016 either. Bottom of the River is one wicked song to show off your accolades with.
Mafia III was revealed by 2K back in August 2015 with a batch of screenshots and a CG trailer. Hanger 13 has been responsible for development since 2014. The game marks the third entry in the popular Mafia game series.
The studio has since shared many details about the world and Gameplay of Mafia III, gaining the hype and interest of many open world game fans.
Set in a re-imagined New Orleans of 1968, Mafia III stars Vietnam War vet Lincoln Clay as he wages his own war against the Italian Mob. Lincoln will team up with three lieutenants to take over New Bordeaux. Burke, an Irish gangster. Cassandra, leader of the Haitian gang. And finally, Vito Scaletta, Mafia II’s protagonist.
Mafia III boasts all-new vehicles, weapons, mechanics and promises to be a true open world game. Its predecessor, Mafia II, was criticized because of its limited sandbox gameplay. Mafia III looks to correct this by adding a variety of side quests which pour into Lincoln’s quest to take over the city’s underworld.
Mafia III will tackle civil issues such as discrimination, racism and how that relates to violent crime of the era.
If the Mafia III accolades trailer matches on release, Mafia III promises to be one of the most popular games of 2016. Mafia III releases worldwide on October 7, 2016 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC.
