Pokemon Go

Pokemon Go released recently on Play Store for Android and App Store for Apple devices. It has become a phenomenon in a short time. Pokemon Go is taking the mobile gaming scene by storm right now. It is one of the few Nintendo games available for mobile. It shows just how well Nintendo games can do on Mobile devices.

What If?

For a while, I’ve been wondering what it would be like to see Nintendo become a video game publisher, dropping its hardware side of the business. Nintendo can generate more revenue by expanding its user base across other platforms. Imagine Nintendo games releasing on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. Millions of gamers are ready to play Nintendo games but just aren’t interested enough in buying a Nintendo console.

Allowing gamers to play Nintendo games on the platforms of there choice will open new doors of opportunity for Nintendo. Wii U was a failure and even though the odds seem better for Nintendo NX, no one can guarantee its success. Nintendo as a video publisher will reduce its market risks significantly.

Leave hardware making to Sony and Microsoft while Nintendo should do what it does best, develop games! I’m sure PlayStation, Xbox, and PC users would love to play Nintendo games on their own platforms.
