The Minecraft Movie Release Date

The fact that The Minecraft Movie was originally announced back in early 2014, and had had its first falling out before 2014 ended, but still didn’t have a specific plan, says a lot about priorities. However, The Minecraft Movie release date has finally been confirmed by Mojang – thank the stars!

But don’t get too excited folks, before you get your hands on this one you might have been through a number of other video game based movies that nobody’s even talking about yet.

We say that because according to Mojang, The Minecraft Movie release date is about three years from now, on May 24, 2019!

This confirmation has come from none other than the chief operating officer of Mojang, and the guy who has been developing The Minecraft Movie, Vu Bui. Here’s the update in its entirety.

Hello future Minecraft movie-goers!

I know you’ve been thinking just about every day, “When’s the Minecraft movie coming out?” Luckily for you, we can finally say!

The Minecraft movie will be released on May 24, 2019! The film will also be released in 3D and IMAX.

Yes, that might seem like a long time away, but it just so happens to be the right amount of time to make it completely awesome. And we all want an awesome Minecraft movie, right?

That’s it for now, but as time goes on we’ll share loads more. Loads!

As you can see, that clearly is a long time away and this post had literally nothing else to go on about the state of production.

We hope that after giving us The Minecraft Movie release date that is so far down the timeline, they will actually be able to make a completely awesome movie.

In parallel news about the game itself, the new Battle Mode has been released, and the last major update, the Minecraft Frostburn Update 1.10 has made major changes to the coldest and hottest parts of the map – including the addition of polar bears.
