Nintendo is keeping its cards close to its chest when it comes to Nintendo NX. The console is in development but we know very little, actually, we know nothing about the new machine. Everything we heard is from unofficial sources we can’t rely on that information too much.

Nintendo was expected to show its new console at E3 2016 but it decided not to bring it to the limelight just yet. The next major event is GamesCom so we may see it there but don’t count on it too much. Nintendo prefers hosting its own streams and events to reveal its products so if that would be the case with Nintendo NX, we can not say for sure when the company will reveal its new gaming platform.

But you have to ask, why is Nintendo not talking about NX? Why the secrecy? According to Miyamoto, the company has a secret idea which it would reveal at the right time.

In terms of NX, there’s an idea that we’re working on. That’s why we can’t share anything at this point, and I don’t want to comment on the other companies. If it was just a matter of following advancements in technology, things would be coming out a lot quicker.

Nintendo NX is set for release on in early 2017 and will go head to head with PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It is expected to be more powerful than its rivals but its rivals, Sony and Microsoft, just announced 4K capable consoles and it is really long shot Nintendo will put the hardware that is also capable of doing the same.

The good news for fans is that unlike Wii U, devs are supporting the NX. Ubisoft, CD RED, EA, are all excited for the new hardware from Nintendo.
