Harada Discusses Some New Features of Tekken 7: Fated Retribution

Tekken 7: Fated Retribution comes with some new features and Harada has shared all the details there are to know about the new Tekken.

Tekken 7: Fated Retribution is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. This will be the very first installment in the series that’ll feature interactive cut-scenes within gameplay, expect an experience similar to Mortal Kombat X story mode.

Tekken 7 also features a combo of dynamic weather and destructible environments. When a player’s health bar is low the battle will slow down during a dramatic final blow.

We wanted to bring extra intensity without taking the player away from the fight, but also make the game even more fun to watch for when you’re not playing, says Harada-san

Street Fighter psycho Akuma has entered The Iron Fist Tournament in search Heihachi Mishima. He brings his entire set of moves and more which will give us an extra layer of challenge while facing the man.

Most people think that it may have been difficult to include Akuma because of things like his projectiles, but lots of Tekken characters have them, and there’s also the ability to sidestep to allow you to get away from them

Harada added:

The real challenge was portraying him in a similar manner to how he is in Street Fighter because of the difference of how certain moves look in 2D, so we had to work hard to recreate that style, look, and feel in full 3D.

Akuma plays a vital role in the story mode — he’s entered a deal with Kazumi to rid the world of her hateful spouse and son, Kazuya and Heihachi, and by the end of the game the Mishima family’s tale will be over.

The super powered Rage mode is divided into two sections. The first one is Rage Drives that are powerful combo blows with increased damage. The second one is the Rage Art which is Tekken 7’s version of finishing moves. There is a catch though.

You can cause massive damage to your opponent but only in proportion to how low your HP is.

One of the new features we’ll see in Fated Retribution is Power Crush. This will come in very handy as it allows you to deliver damage and complete your combo even if you are taking damage.

Skilled players can use this to their advantage, but it won’t go so well for them if they try against low attacks of throws, so you can’t just power your way through each time.

Tekken 7: Fated Retribution is coming to consoles and PC in early 2017.
