With Destiny: Rise of Iron Bungie is dropping support for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Players on last-gen consoles won’t be able to go past The Taken King, which was the very last expansion released across all platform.

The good news is that all of your prolonged sessions and grinding in Destiny aren’t in vain.

If players on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 want to play the latest expansion, Rise of Iron, on current-gen consoles with their old characters Bungie has provided a way around.

However, you will need to spend some extra cash if you don’t already own Destiny: The Taken King on current-gen. According to Bungie, Destiny players on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 will need to buy The Taken King on current-gen consoles to be able to transfer their Legacy characters to Rise of Iron on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The newly announced Destiny: Rise of Iron, which will be released in September 2016, will only be available on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles. Players must own Destiny: The Taken King on their account to pre-order or purchase Destiny: Rise of Iron

The account import feature is going to be available starting August 2016. Once the feature becomes available, players will receive a message when they log-in to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 players will be stripped from Trials of Osiris and Iron Banner Crucible matches sometime in August. The option to purchase individual exotic weapons and armor from Xur will also disappear on Legacy consoles.

Keep in mind that you only be allowed to import your data between the same console family. You can not jump from Xbox 360 to Xbox One or PlayStation 3 to PlayStation 4.
