Mighty No. 9

There are a total of 8 main Mighty No. 9 boss battles and an additional boss battle that you can tackle in the game.

Each of these bosses brings a unique mix of attacks, deploy specific strategies, and has individual weaknesses. Ideally, you should easily be able to deal with these Mighty No. 9 bosses using ReXElection from previous boss battle.

Most of the bosses in the game require you to be constantly on the move and switching between attacks to come out strong.

Mighty No. 9 Boss Battles Guide

Our Mighty No. 9 Boss Battles Guide details everything you need to know about bosses’ weaknesses, attack patterns, which ReXElections to use, and more.

Mighty No. 9 Pyrogen
During this boss battle, you need to avoid the fire walls. Throughout the battle, you will need to rely on audio clues to anticipate attacks.

One of the attacks is a jumping attack after which it will run you over. To avoid it, dash forward and you will not receive any damage. Then there is a tackle attack which can be avoided by jumping and dashing.

Moreover, there is an explosion attack. To evade it, you need to get in close to trigger the explosion and leave with a dash. If you are unable to leave with a dash, better stick close to the boss and avoid the explosion damage.

After you have damaged it enough, it will begin to glow red. You must absorb it lest it will replenish all its HP. The process must be repeated 3-4 times. At about 50 per cent HP, it will enter a kamikaze mode during which it will literally one-shot you.

You need to avoid it during kamikaze mode, repeat the process again, and complete the boss battle.

Mighty No. 9 Cryosphere
After spraying water all over the place, Cryosphere will try to get in close and freeze the area along with your character. In order to avoid it, you will need to dash away. In case you are hit, you will need to break the attack and dash away as it will be followed up with a leaping attack.

In addition to dashing away to avoid getting frozen, you will need to change to Pyro ReXElection and begin charging it. Once you see the boss freezing water, jump away, and fire it.

This should allow you to hit the boss, make it fall, and head in close to land attacks. For maximum damage output, you need to get in close and spam the attack button.

At about 50 per cent HP, the boss will start firing a ray gun. During this point, you need to dash under it, absorb when it falls, and complete the boss fight.

Mighty No. 9 Battalion
This is one of the easiest boss fights in the game. Once the battle begins, you will need to avoid its shots and retaliate with your Cryo ReXElection whenever you manage to get an opening.

Once you are able to get it to 50 percent HP, it will initiate a missile-like attack. This attack is quite slow and is highly telegraphed. With a little timing, you should be able to get in close, spam the attacks, and complete the job.

Mighty No. 9 Seismic
Once the boss battle begins, it will try to tackle you for a couple of times. This can easily be evaded by jumping and dashing. However, while you are doing so, you should try to place a bomb on its back using Battalion ReXElection.

At about 50 per cent HP, the boss will begin shrinking the room and make rocks fall from the ceiling. You should be able to tell the location of these rocks judging from the dust on the ground. Moreover, you should be able to destroy these rocks with relative ease.

Once you are done, you should be able to repeat the strategy above and complete the fight!

Mighty No. 9 Brandish
Similar to Seismic, this is another easy boss fight, especially if you are running with Seismic ReXElection. While you are wearing Seismic ReXElection, you need to run around while constantly spamming the attack button.

At about 50 per cent HP, you will find it hard to evade its attacks. However, if you continue to crouch and dash, you should have no difficulty in avoiding damage and completing the boss battle.

Mighty No. 9 Dynatron
After the boss battle begins, she will move the area while constantly trying to pin you down using her pins. These attacks, however, can easily be countered using the sword you acquire from Brandish.

The basic idea is to continue swinging your sword which will allow you to avoid her pins without breaking a sweat and continue dishing out damage. Moreover, it will allow you to destroy these pins and completely negate her middle-health damage.

Mighty No. 9 Countershade
In the start, you will need to judge where the shots are coming from in order to locate Countershade. Once you see the boss, swing the brand sword about 3-4 times.

Another important thing that you need to note here is that Dynatron pins are his weakness, but you will not be able to kill it using the pins. In order to do that, you will need to wear Brandish ReXElection which will allow you to deflect almost all of its attacks.

At about 50 per cent HP, you will no longer be able to deflect its attacks. At this point, you will need to continue dashing in order to avoid taking damage. In addition to this, the boss will also create a hologram of itself. You should easily be able to distinguish between the two since the hologram will not shoot.

Just make sure to keep an eye out on these attacks, find windows to counter attack, and you should be good to go.

Mighty No. 9 Aviator
There are multiple ways using which you can complete this boss battle. Firstly, you can wear Countershade’s ReXElection and whittle down its HP. However, in case you are not comfortable with it, there is another strategy you can employ.

Once you see it moving from left to right, you need to dash and jump on either platform and continue to deal damage using your normal attacks. On the other hand, if you see it moving up/down, wear your Brand ReXElection and deflect its attack as well as continue to deal damage.

Despite small platforms, most of its attacks are highly predictable and telegraphed – you will face no difficulty in avoiding them. However, there is a bombardment attack which is somewhat hard to predict.

Mighty No. 9 Nameless
It is a good idea to wear Battalion ReXElection, target the front side, and detonate to deal decent amount of damage. If you happen to make it fall, make sure to absorb it, and do not let it replenish its HP.

Once you get it to reveal its eye, throw every attack your disposal – do note that you will have little time to do so! Alternatively, you can also use Cryo ReXElection to achieve the similar results.

Once you get it to about 50 per cent HP, its attacks will become hard to predict and it will change its direction almost instantaneously. During this point, you will need to dash crouched and wear Aviator ReXElection in order to avoid taking damage.
