Last time we talked about Mortal Kombat X Kombat Pack 3 was when the Mortal Kombat XL update was being released. Ever since then Injustice 2 has been confirmed and appears to be getting all the limelight from NetherRealm.

However, Ed Boon the co-creator of Mortal Kombat and the creative director at NetherRealm Studios doesn’t want you to forget about the game just yet. In fact, he has not only teased by almost confirmed the existence of the Kombat Pack 2 recently.

Known for similar gimmicks, Boon responded to a fan’s compliment about Injustice 2 on his official Twitter profile and decided to use the opportunity to tease about Mortal Kombat X related news.

While that confirms the Mortal Kombat X Kombat Pack 3 does exist, these aren’t enough details. So a couple of days after that, Boon took a more direct approach to it:

Isn’t that a too obvious? The capitalized letters E – V – O clearly confirm that fans of Mortal Kombat X are in for a reveal at the upcoming Evo 2016 Championship Series.

In other words, NetherRealm Studios is going to reveal new content for the game between July 15 – 17, 2016 because that is when Evo 2016 takes place in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The previous two Kombat Packs have brought for DLC characters each and we can expect a similar number in the upcoming downloadable content pack.

Since Injustice 2 is not going to be released this year, it would make sense if the developers want to cash in on that time with Mortal Kombat X Kombat Pack 3 and keep the fans busy while they wait for the superhero based fighting title.
