When Microsoft announced Xbox One S during its E3 press conference, no one was expecting that Microsoft would have another surprise up their sleeves in the form of Project Scorpio.

When Project Scorpio was revealed, there was no doubt that this console would be significantly more powerful compared to Xbox One, but we had no idea how much until now.

In an interview with Giant Bomb, Xbox head Phil Spencer revealed a specific number during the discussion that “Project Scorpio is 4.5x more powerful than Xbox One”.

However, the full specs for Project Scorpio has not been confirmed by Microsoft, but the console will include 8 CPU Cores, 6 teraFlops of GPU power. This console will be a true 4K console capable of delivering best virtual reality experience.

Moreover, this console in believed to be featuring more RAM and improved memory bandwidth compared to Xbox One’s 8 GB DDR3 RAM.

With the reveal of Project Scorpio many analyst were fearing that this will create a divide in Xbox community. However, Phil Spencer was quick to clarify that Xbox One, the newly announced Xbox One S and Project Scorpio are going to be compatible.

This means same accessories can be used for all three of these consoles and users will not need to buy a new one. Also games that will come for Xbox One will be playable on Xbox One S and Project Scorpio.

However, there is a catch that only some of the Xbox One games will run better on Scorpio if they meet certain requirements.

According to Microsoft developers will require for their games to use dynamic scaling, if they want their games to look better compared to what they look now in current console.

Do you think this console will be a game changer for Microsoft? Let us know in the comments.
