Mass Effect Andromeda’s Tempest Teased by Bioware
Mass Effect Andromeda will be bringing a lot of new things to the table for Mass Effect. We’ll be seeing a new protagonist, a new galaxy, new planets, new races, and above all, a new ship. Mass Effect Andromeda’s Tempest, the ship we saw in the game’s E3 trailer, has been named by Bioware in a post on its Twitter.

Mass Effect Andromeda’s Tempest will likely be the ship that we do most of our exploring in in the Andromeda galaxy, despite the massive ship that we saw earlier in the trailer (which may be the central location similar to the Citadel).
The Tempest is also different in a number of ways from the Normandy. It seems to be longer and slimmer, and is colored red and white instead of blue and white like the Normandy was painted in Mass Effect 3.
What all Mass Effect Andromeda’s Tempest is capable of, however, we’ve got no idea. It will obviously be the mission hub where we can talk to our squadmates, upgrade equipment and more, but what else will be in it? We’ll be getting a cool Mako-like vehicle to explore planets with, but will there be a wisecracking pilot to replace Joker? Would there be cool holograms and tech labs?
Another thing about Mass Effect Andromeda’s Tempest is that it seems bigger than the Normandy. Despite the different shape (it may very well be a product of all of the Milky Way races rather than just humans and turians like the Normandy) it looks a lot bigger, not just longer. Then again considering that it seems to be able to deploy the new Mako car it has to be able to go into the atmosphere.
Either way we’ll get to see what Mass Effect Andromeda’s Tempest can really do when the game comes out sometime next year, so with luck we’ll get to see it when the game comes out, including all of its cool toys.
