Fallout: New Vegas Writer Chris Avellone Behind Prey Reboot
Chris Avellone, writer and lead designer behind the Fallout: New Vegas title, is working on Prey reboot by Arkane Studios, developer behind hugely anticipated Dishonored 2.
Avellone tweeted the news soon after Bethesda’s press conference at E3 2016. Prey (reboot), which shares name with Human Head Studio’s game, was announced at the event. Avellone has worked on a number of projects recently, including inXile’s Wasteland 2 as well as Torment: Tides of Numenera and Divinity: Original Sin 2.
Previously, he was the chief creative officer at Obsidian. Human Head’s Prey seemed to be an interesting sci-fi bounty-hunter sim title. The game had some development problems however and never actually released.
Bethesda still remembers the franchise and Arkane’s Austin studio that developed Dishonored is currently working on the Pray reboot. The Pray reboot might give the gamers an experience of what they missed out.
Prey is a great franchise and is still remembered today and know that we are going to be seeing a Prey reboot with next generation tech and graphics, makes me excited about its prospects.
The Prey reboot takes place in future in 2032. The main character is Morgan, who happens to wake up one day on a space station and is being tested on with alien experiments. The trailer showed one man living the same day over and over again. Arcane says they’ll show off more of the Prey reboot at QuakeCon.
Arkane Studios has given us Dishonored, the much-loved stealth action franchise that is famous for its unscripted gameplay. Prey could be a whole new experience for gamers and a work of art from Arkane Studios.
Also it could fill in the gap that the unreleased prey created in the first place. With VR and next generation graphics, now would be the best time for Prey game to shine!
