E3 is just around the corner and the gaming community is gearing up to celebrate the biggest gaming event of the season. In celebration of E3 2016 and the upcoming reveal of WWE 2K17, Microsoft and 2K games have joined hands to offer a free copy to last year’s installment.

Yes, WWE 2K16 is now free for Xbox users if they have a Xbox Live Gold Membership. You can download the game right now on your Xbox console and enjoy last year’s installment of the series.

2K games is expected to fully reveal WWE 2K17 in just a few days.

Starting Thursday, June 16 and running through on 11:59PM PT Sunday, June 19 the free play session allows every Xbox Live Gold Member to experience the hard-hitting excitement of WWE 2K16 with a simple download. And if you’d like to continue the fun after the free period, WWE 2K16 will be offered at a special promotional price all week long.

WWE 2K17 was announced in a very odd manner. Instead of a reveal trailer showing in-game or at least CGI footage, 2K thought it was a good idea to first reveal the game’s pre order bonus first.

Want to know what’s the pre order bonus? It’s Bill Goldberg, I am getting goosebumps by just writing his name. The legend is finally featured again in a WWE game.

If my serves me right, last we saw him was in a Smack Down vs Raw game, it was before 2K took over the franchise and it became WWE 2K.
