343i developed Halo 5: Guardians sold 3 million copies on Xbox One in the first three months on sale. The game released late last year and even with its flaws, it managed to do well in the market.

343i’s Frank O’Conner confirmed the 5 million number on Neogaf. He revealed the number while correcting a fan on the social platform.

The number is very impressive and if we are to assume, the total sales as of today should be somewhere close to 8 to 10 million.

It is rumored that Halo 5 will release on Windows 10 PC as well. However, there hasn’t been any confirmation from the developers or publisher of the game. Rumors has speculations have been coming on abundance and a little while back Aaron Greenberg stated that Halo 5 is the last licences to be published on Xbox One alone.

This suggested that Halo 6 will be published on other platforms, Windows 10 PC. Thankfully, those who want to get a taste of what Halo 5 might feel like on Windows 10 can get Halo 5 – Forge. Keep in mind that 343i made it very clear that they don’t have plans to bring Halo 5 to PC and Forge is as close as fans will get to it.
