A Mirror’s Edge Catalyst Update is Already in the Air; Brings Dynamic Resolution, Fixes
Electronic Arts is going to release the new entry in the Mirror’s Edge series tomorrow i.e. June 7, 2016 but it looks like a Mirror’s Edge Catalyst update is already up in the air somehow.
The update in question attends to a number of bug fixes for the game which the developers have picked up in last minute testing, however, calling it a Day One patch would make more sense right now.
According to what we have picked up, the patch is going to take up 1GB of free space on your device, with which it is not only going to fix some issues but also add some new features to the game.
For starters, the Mirror’s Edge Catalyst update is going to add in-game support for dynamic resolution for the Xbox One version of the game. Other than this, the Xbox One version is getting performance and stability improvements as well as some problems with the lighting at the time of spawning.
Other than this, some issues that are specific to the PC version of the game have also been outlined. To begin with, the developers have added a new and even higher graphics setting to the game called “Hyper.”
Here’s a complete rundown on the issues that are being addressed with the first patch of the game:
Xbox One Version:
- Support for dynamic resolution.
- Fixed an issue where the cut scenes could get out of sync with the audio.
- Introducing a new Graphics setting – Hyper.
- Improved minimum spec GPU support, improved GPU memory detection and increased customization in Video settings.
- Fixed Lighting issues on spawn in.
- Stability improvements.
- Performance improvements.
