The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine Beast of Beauclair Boss Guide – How to Kill
The Beast of Beauclair is the final boss that you will encounter in The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine. This boss fight is basically divided into two encounters – the first encounter occurs after you start the Blood Run main quest.
One important thing that you need to know about fighting the Beast of Beauclair is that you do not really need to defeat him in the first encounter in order to progress through the game. Even if the defeat manages to deplete your entire HP bar during the first encounter, you will not die. Instead a brief cut-scene will play and you will start progressing through the game as normal.
The Witcher 3: Blood Beast of Beauclair Guide
This guide details everything that you need to know about defeating Beast of Beauclair in both encounters:
Blood and Wine Beast of Beauclair First Encounter
As mentioned earlier, you do not really need to defeat Beast of Beauclair in the first encounter. However, it is not entirely impossible for you to defeat him. If you manage to defeat the boss during the initial encounter, you will be able to get additional 1,000 experience points.
During the first encounter, you need to get yourself some Vampire Oil and Black Blood potion. Similar to Bruxa boss fight, the Black Blood potion will allow you to return a percentage of damage dealt to you by Beast of Beauclair.
In addition to this, you always need to be on the move, use Quen sign to shield yourself against the boss’ rapid strikes. Do note that this will take a lot of time, but if you are looking to get yourself some additional experience points, this is what you need to do!
Beast of Beauclair Final Encounter
The second and final encounter with Beast of Beauclair is essentially divided into a total of 3 phases. During the first phase, you need to rely on using Yrden in order to slow him down and Quen in order to absorb as much damage as possible.
There is no point rushing him because he will easily block all your attacks and then punish you. Instead of doing that, you need to wait for him to charge you, dodge, and then hit him. Furthermore, he will also counter your attacks so make sure that you do not attack him continuously. Just keep using the strategy and you will soon trigger his second phase.
The second is the most frustrating of all! In this phase, the boss will sprout a pair of wings and will remain out of your reach for most of the time. He will occasionally sweep in to deal some damage before going away again.
During this phase, you will need to rely on your crossbow for most of the damage and be ready to dodge away the sweeping attack. In addition to this, the boss will also have bats and red spots on the ground which will damage and stun you.
Like the previous phase, you need to rely on Quen as much as possible and look for opportunities to strike. If you remain patient and careful – it is the game’s last boss after all – you will force it to trigger the final phase.
During the third and final phase, you will need to hit the red pulsing areas in order to deal damage to the boss. The best idea here is to use Quen and Igni, deal some damage to the boss, retreat, and then repeat the same process again.
Once you manage to bring the boss’ HP bar to about 1, you will teleport outside. At this point, you simply need to hit the boss one time and complete the boss battle. Sit back and enjoy the cut-scene.
