Rocket League June Update Brings Certified and Painted Items
Psyonix are currently working on the Rocket League June update with which, they are going to add a number of new things to the game, the newest of all being an introduction to Certified Items and Painted Items. Not sure what those are? Read on!
The developers basically want to add variety to the game which is why they promised post game celebrations, followed by cross network play between Xbox One and PC recently, and are now bringing these special items.
According to what we have been told by Psyonix, Item Attributes are being introduced to not only expand the number of items that can drop but also add special properties to some rare finds.
Rocket League June Update Features Item Attributes
The Painted Items are essentially going to overlay existing items with new color pigments. Upon finding a painted item you get a random color out of specially named colors, two examples of the colors we got were “Titanium White” and “Burnt Sienna.”
“Painted,” recolors an item with entirely-new pigments, and we’ll kick off our first release with Painted Wheels and Toppers. If you’re lucky enough to discover a Painted version of an item, its color will be randomly chosen from a set of named colors like “Titanium White” and “Burnt Sienna.”
Next up are the Certified Items which track a specific statistic during your online matches, each items has its own statistic to track. The more you get a given stat, the greater will be the prestige of that prefix. Here’s an example of how this will work after the Rocket League June update:
For example, if I discover a “Sniper Wizard Hat,” I’ve acquired a special version of the “Wizard Hat” Topper that tracks “Long Goals.” Every time I score a Long Goal in an online match, the hat’s stat counter will increase by one. When I reach fifty Long Goals with that hat equipped, it becomes a “Skillful Sniper Wizard Hat,” and after many more, an “Incredible Sniper Wizard Hat,” and so on.
This is not the first feature of the Rocket League June Update that has been detailed, previously Psyonix revealed a new arena called Pillars that divides the battleground in three lanes.
Another feature of the June update is going to be the expansion of Quick Chat options for the players during and after the match.
