The Order 1886 Developer to Reveal New Game Next Week

Next week The Order 1886 developer Ready At Dawn’s new game published by GameStop will be revealed. This announcement was made by GameStop COO.

GameStop COO Tony Bartel said during the company’s earnings call that:

Next week, we will be announcing our second game under development, with Ready at Dawn.

During the conference Bartel reminded the investors and analysts that GameStop will not only make money from the physical sales of their published games but a portion of their profit will come from the digital sales. Furthermore, if there will be toys or collectibles based on the their published games, the company will also profit from that too.

Recently GameStop started a new publishing division called GameTrust. Ready at dawn new game will be the second game published by GameStop, as the first game published was Song of the Deep developed by Insomniac Games.

Song of the Deep is an action-adventure game for PC, Xbox One, and Playstation 4. Song of the Deep basically tells the story of a young girl and her quest into the abyss to find her missing father.

GameStop publishing division acts as a game label similar to Curve, Koch, 505 Games or Team17. Developers will retain all creative rights to their games and GameStop will have no creative involvement in their projects.

As of now GameStop has signed four game developing studios, to develop games for GameTrust.

  • Insomniac Games: Song of the Deep.
  • Frozenbyte: Unannounced.
  • Ready at Dawn: Unannounced.
  • Tequila Works: Unannounced.

GameStop will use its chain of retail stores to push the games and market them to consumers. GameStop is also considering teaming with ThinkGeek division to produce merchandise before a game releases.

It is yet unknown that the for what platform this new game, developed by Ready at Dawn, will hit.
