TV Adaptation Of Mirror’s Edge In the Works, It Better be Good
Mirror’s Edge Catalyst is just couple of weeks away from its release, and by the looks of it developer DICE have put everything that made the original Mirror’s Edge memorable in the upcoming sequel. However, the game is heading towards the small screen, as tv adaptation of Mirror’s Edge is in the works.
Mirror’s Edge is the latest in the long line of games adapted to television. According to a report from Deadline, Endemol Shine Studios has acquired the rights to to adapt the first person parkour game on the small screen.
According to Sharon Hall, President of Endemol Shine Studios, Mirror’s Edge is a franchise for global television audience.
We clearly see Mirror’s Edge as a franchise for the global TV audience. It has a strong female protagonist, a wildly rabid fan base and a worldwide brand that Electronic Arts and EA DICE have done an amazing job establishing.
This year we have seen and will be seeing many adaptations of video games to movies like Ractchet And Clank, Angry Birds, soon to be released Warcraft Movie and later this year we will be seeing Assassin’s Creed movie.
The early reviews have come in for Warcraft movie which indicate that Warcraft is not a mediocre movie but a bad one, with movie struggling to tell a gripping story and ignoring the core of the Warcraft games. However, these are just early reviews and the movie is not yet released in majority of its market.
Mirror’s Edge Catalyst is a first person parkour game set to release on June 7 2016 for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The game will also be available on Origin Access before launch.
