Report: Metal Gear Solid V Getting Custom Side Ops, Create Your Own Espionage Action
Released back in 2015, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain was Kojima’s final game before leaving Konami. But that doesn’t mean work on the game’s future content and updates is halted.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is getting a custom side ops creators, sources tell SegmentNext. Players will be able to create their own experiences that can be shared with friends online.
Players will also be able to control enemy placements, routes for infiltration and mission objectives among other things in the Custom Side Ops creator.
Needless to say, all this is not official information but it fits perfectly with a recent leak where a fan found a custom level editor hidden within game files. Data mined information mentioned a project system, a “rail system,”a Route system (mentioned by our sources as well), a Tactical action system, a mission editor (side ops).
It is inline with the report we have received but we should wait for official confirmation before getting really excited over this.
A Custom Side Ops creator will definitely appeal to the community and should help this game age well. It’s been a year almost since its release and not much is left to do in The Phantom Pain. Such a feature will add new life to the game.
With the Custom Side Ops creator we can expect to see leaderboards where friends and compete against each other, you will also be able share your creation with the community.
It is not known when will the next major update for Metal Gear Solid V will drop but we hope it does indeed bring the level editor.
We are trying to get in touch with Konami in hope of a comment.
