Overwatch Animated Short Hero Brings Soldier 76 To Limelight

By   /   May 23, 2016

Before the weekend it was rumored that the next Overwatch animated short was going to reveal a new hero for the game, but it turns out the rumor was slightly misguided. The short is not revealing a new hero, instead it is called “Hero.”

The animated short in question features Soldier 76 and proves that not only does he have the aim of a champion but also a heart of gold.

Lore says that there is a reward of $10,000,000 for anyone who helps capture Soldier 76, because he is an “international fugitive.” The rumors that he might have crossed the US borders to Mexico are, apparently, true as you can see in the video above. Here’s his background:

Old habits die hard for one ex-Overwatch agent in our fourth and final animated short for this season: Hero. “Hero” follows the masked vigilante Soldier: 76 on a personal mission to Dorado where he’s set to investigate the illegal activities of the Los Muertos gang—but an unexpected complication threatens to compromise his objective.

For those who have not been following, this was the fourth and final short of the series. The Overwatch animated short that was released before this was called Dragons and told the story of Hanzo and Genji, the two brothers who are at distant odds.

We, however, loved the one with Tracer taking on Widowmaker, called Alive that was released back in the first week on April.

In the Overwatch animated short above, we have found respect for yet another character from Blizzard Entertainment’s latest. The game releases worldwide on May 24, 2016 for all the planned platforms i.e. PC,PS4 and Xbox One.
