Square Enix Teases New Tomb Raider News, A New Game?
Japanese publisher Square Enix has said that they will soon be making a new Tomb Raider announcement that will reveal what direction they’re taking the series in. The newest entry in the remastered series, Rise of the Tomb Raider, was only released in November of last year.
Square Enix also has a number of other hotly anticipated games that will be coming out soon, such as Deus Ex: Mankind Divided (the sequel to Deus Ex: Human Revolution), the upcoming episodes to Hitman, and a new entry to the Star Ocean series, which will be shown at E3.
Square Enix also has Final Fantasy to look forward to, as Final Fantasy 15, the latest entry in the main series, is supposed to be releasing on September 30 of this year. Not to mention that Square Enix may also have a new expansion for Final Fantasy 14, the massive multiplayer online game, coming up after Heavensward released in June of last year.
We don’t really have any idea of what the new Tomb Raider news will be; whether it’s a sneak peek of a new game, or a side story, or something else (maybe related to the upcoming reboot of the Tomb Raider film series). It may even be another piece of DLC for Rise of the Tomb Raider.
Rise has already had two come out: Baba Yaga in in January, and The Cold Darkness Awakened, which came out in April. The game also got an Endurance Mode geared towards using actual survival skills in order to avoid losing health.
Whatever the new Tomb Raider news is, hopefully it will be worth the wait because right now Square Enix has a very good year lined up ahead of it, and we’ll hopefully see a lot of what they have in store for us at E3 this June.
