Gran Turismo Sport Live Reveal Event Timer is On, Watch it Here
Gran Turismo Sport, the first entry in the Gran Turismo franchise that will be released on the Playstation 4, was announced last year at the Paris Games Show. While we didn’t get very much detail there, Sony will be hosting a live reveal event for the game tomorrow, in London.
At this live event, attendees will finally be able to get a hands-on look at the game, and will be able to look at eight full-scale Gran Turismo concept cars, along with two quarter-scale models. The event will also be broadcast live from 10:30 AM (Pacific Time) to 6:30 PM on the official Gran Turismo YouTube channel.
The event will also be host to a pair of Gran Turismo eSports tournaments, called the Manufacturer’s Cup and the Nation’s Cup. The tournament finals and the following award ceremony will be hosted by Kazunori Yamauchi, the producer of the Gran Turismo series.
Unlike the other Gran Turismo games, Gran Turismo Sport is a racing game specifically geared towards eSports racing. The Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile, known in English as the International Automobile Federation, aims to ratify the Gran Turismo Online Tournament to help with the game’s eSports scene.
Gran Turismo Sport, according to Yamauchi, will also include support for the Playstation VR, allowing players to actually be in the car and driving, rather than looking at it just on a television screen. According to Yamauchi the experience felt very natural, so you don’t have to worry about possible discomfort.
In addition to the two racing tournaments, the event will include a number of other attractions, including news about the game and a brand new trailer for it.
While we don’t yet have a release date for Gran Turismo Sport yet, it’s slated to come out sometime this year (or next year, if the rumors are true) so hopefully we’ll see some more footage of it at some point during E3.
