Earlier this year EA teased multiple Star Wars games are in development, and now the company has confirmed Star Wars Battlefront 2, set for 2017 launch.

CFO of EA, Blake Jorgensen, revealed Star Wars Battlefront 2 details during the earnings call that the game will have huge and better worlds compared to Battlefront. He further said that the game will feature content from new movies, but he did not name the movies right away.

Jorgensen said that EA is planning to release Star Wars game every year for the next three to four years. He confirmed that Star Wars Battlefront sequel will release next year, although it is unclear if he was referring to the company`s fiscal year or 2017.

Jorgensen further confirmed that the next Star Wars action game developed by Dead Space Studio, Visceral, and Motive will also release next year, but again he did not mention that the game will be coming out in 2017 or the fiscal year. The company`s fiscal year has already started in April.

Joegensen also mentioned recently announced Star Wars action game by Titanfall developer, Respawn entertainment, but he did not share any specific details about the game.

It comes as no surprise that EA is planning multiple Battlefront Sequels. The first game has already shipped 14 million copies, which were way ahead of company`s expectations.

However, the figures of Battlefront`s online active users paint a different picture. Despite being released recently as compared to Battlefield 4, Battlefront has less active users as compared to Battlefield 4 and even though the game is being supported through DLCs.

It is clear from these numbers that fans of the shooters have lost interest in Battlefront for one reason or another. I only hope that the next Star Wars game will live up to its name and will be full of content, and it would be a extra treat if it will have a proper single-player campaign.
