Unlike Uncharted 4 journal entries and Uncharted 4 journal notes, Uncharted 4 conversations cannot be picked up, but can be triggered by performing certain in-game actions.

After you have successfully initiated an optional conversation with one of the characters, simply walk upto them and start the conversation.

Once you have triggered and listened to all Uncharted 4 optional conversations, you will acquire Gift of Gab trophy.

After moving through lemon orchard with Sam, continue to move forward until you come across pillars where you will be able to trigger another optional conversation.

Optional Conversation – Exit Strategy
Once you are asked to create a diversion, find Sam on the balcony and speak with him to trigger an optional conversation. You must do this before following Sully.

Chapter #8 – The Grave of Henry Avery

Optional Conversation – Thing for St. Dismas
After heading down the stairs into the first chamber by interacting Benjamin Bridgeman gravestone, speak with Sam when the special icon over his head appears to trigger the optional conversation.

Optional Conversation – It Looks Like a Constellation
After solving the puzzle of three crosses, simply speak with Sam after the optional conversation icon appears over his head.

After exiting the Three Crosses Puzzle area, proceed through the left tunnel and speak with Sam when you see the optional conversation icon over his head.

Chapter # 10 – The Twelve Towers

Optional Conversation – Some Kind of Dream
After you arrive at the signal tower, exit the 4×4 and speak with both Sully and Sam to trigger both the optional conversation in this chapter.

After you arrive at the signal tower, exit the 4×4 and speak with both Sully and Sam to trigger both the optional conversation in this chapter.

Chapter #11 – Hidden in Plain Sight

Optional Conversation – I’m Gonna Get a Dog
While at the market before the staircase, you need to interact with Lemur once you see the optional conversation icon.

Chapter #12 – At Sea

Optional Conversation – Nice View
You will be able to trigger this optional conversation as you approach the cliff edge that faces the ocean on the left-hand-side.

In order to trigger this optional conversation, you need to interact with all the interact-ables inside the hideout.

Chapter #14 – Join Me in Paradise

Optional Conversation – Quite The Find
You will be able to trigger this optional conversation while Sam is taking in the Colony right at the start of the chapter.

While you are inside the blacksmith’s, simply interact with the cutlass in order to trigger an optional conversation.

While you are inside the tavern, you need to sit in the chairs located on the second floor of the area.
