Contrary to Previous Reports Sam Drake is Playable in Uncharted 4
Uncharted 4 is introducing a brand new character to the series for the first and last time as this will be the final entry. The character in question in Sam Drake, Nathan Drake’s older brother. He is about 5 years older than Nate and was believed to had died.
Nate will embark on a new journey with Sam Drake, leaving his normal life with Elena behind to hunt Henry Avery’s treasure. According to previous reports from different news outlets and a confirmation from PlayM, a very popular German publication, Sam Drake isn’t a playable character in Uncharted 4.
PlayM claimed that ND has confirmed that Nathan Drake is the only playable character in the game. However, that couldn’t be far from the truth.
SegmentNext can confirm that Sam Drake is playable in Uncharted 4. You will be taking control of this character in the game, not as much as Nate of course, but enough to give you the idea that a Sam Drake based Uncharted game would be awesome as well.
Darker but awesome!
The older brother of Nate is as jumpy, cocky, and ambition as his younger brother; I guess death wish runs in the family.
Same as Nate, he is capable of taking down a handful of enemies at a time by himself, he is an excellent climber and occasionally makes sarcastic jokes like Nathan Drake.
We would love to see more of Sam Drake in the future if Naughty Dog ever decides to do another game that is based solely around the adventures of Samuel Drake.
Uncharted 4 is releasing on May 10, tomorrow on PlayStation 4. We earlier posted a spoiler free Uncharted 4 opening sequence and some new high-res screenshots from the game; so do check them out before you leave.
