Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Eclipse DLC Will Release On May 19
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3’s previous DLC, entitled “Awakening,” broke sales records for the series when it was released in February.
While we’ve known that the Black Ops 3 Eclipse DLC would be released sometime after it, we never had an exact date, but now Treyarch has gotten rid of that little speed bump: Eclipse will be released two weeks from today, on May 19, for the Xbox One.
Eclipse has already been out on the Playstation 4 ever since April 19, but on May 19 it will be coming to the Xbox One for players that lack a Playstation 4.
The DLC brings more multiplayer maps for you and your friends to destroy, and also has a new zombie map that brings to mind memories of Shi No Numa, a Zombie map for Call of Duty: World at War and Call of Duty: Black Ops.
This zombie map, called Zetsubou No Shima, plunges players into a sinister Imperial Japanese biological weapons facility on a remote Pacific Island, leaving them to fend off hundreds of zombies made of dead soldiers from the Imperial Japanese Army. Zetsubou No Shima includes terrifying new enemies, inventive traps, and the classically obtuse zombie side quests that help you uncover the “story” of the level.
The four other multiplayer maps include Spire, a sub-orbital airport terminal, Rift, a futuristic military complex high above an active volcanic caldera, Knockout, a traditional Shaolin Temple, and Verge, a reimagining of the classic Call of Duty: World At War map Banzai set in a distant, war-torn post-apocalyptic future.
The Black Ops 3 Eclipse DLC will be available on Thursday, May 19, on the Xbox One for $14.99. And if you think you can get it if you only have a Playstation 4 or an Xbox 360, think again; you’d best upgrade if you want to keep playing the game.
