Retail Version of Minecraft Includes Seven Best-Selling DLCs
Microsoft and Xbox have announced that a retail version of Minecraft: Xbox One Edition will be coming out to stores this June, and that the game will include not only the Xbox One edition of Minecraft, but also seven of the game’s best-selling DLC packs in what’s being called the “Favorites Pack.”
Minecraft remains one of the most popular downloads on consoles, helped along by its multiplayer value and the sheer amount of downloadable content available for it. Until now it has only been available as a downloadable game on the Xbox Store, but the retail version of Minecraft aims to change all of that. The retail game will include the following DLC Packs:
• Battle & Beasts Skin Pack
• Battle & Beasts 2 Skin Pack
• Natural Texture Pack
• City Texture Pack
• Fantasy Texture Pack
• Festive Mash-up
• Halo Mash-up
The retail version of Minecraft coming out also gives a better option for people that have been playing the Xbox 360 versions of Minecraft when they want to upgrade, as the Xbox One edition has bigger worlds, better resolution, and a new set of achievements worth 1000 points. And if you’re scared of losing the worlds you’ve built, don’t be; you can import all of your old worlds over onto the Xbox One.
And if you don’t want to run out to the store and buy it? The same version of Minecraft is also available on the Xbox One Store for the same price!
The retail version of Minecraft: Xbox One Edition Favorites Pack will be available starting June 7 for Australia and New Zealand, and will be releasing everywhere else in the world on June 21, all for the modest price of $29.99. So if you were looking for a new excuse to buy Minecraft, or want to take advantage of a summer sale, this is probably the best opportunity you’ll get for a long time.
