Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and What We Know!
We now have unofficial confirmation that Call of Duty: 2016 is called Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. Keeping three-year development cycle in mind, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is being developed by Infinity Ward – previously worked on Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Ghosts.
This untitled game was announced by Infinity Ward earlier this year and while we do not have a whole lot of information directly from the developer, leaks related to Call of Duty: games have been quite consistent over the past couple of years. This article rounds up all the rumors, speculations, and official confirmations regarding Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare or Call of Duty 2016:
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Being Built on a Better Engine
Although Infinity Ward has yet to confirm it; according to a job listing from Activision, the game engine using which Call of Duty: IW is being built on features better memory optimization, geometry, and texture pipelines.
The job listing states improved optimization which is a welcome news! However, there is no telling whether the game is being built on an improved version of an old engine or a completely new one.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare to Feature Space Combat
One of the biggest leaks related to Call of Duty: 2016 is the inclusion of space-combat. According to a leak, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will be set in distant future which will make Call of Duty: Black Ops III appear like stone-age.
With the release of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Infinity Ward is planning sort of a full sci-fi release.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Realistic Destruction and Explosions
Going hand-in-hand with space-combat leak, according to another job listing by Activision, it appears Call of Duty: IW will feature realistic explosions and destructions in space.
Obviously, this is something fans hear almost every year so no point in getting your hopes up!
elite3D Studio Co-Developing Infinite Warfare
This is something officially confirmed by elite3D Studio. The studio specializes in motion capture, 3D arts, objects and concepts, animations, and more. Founded in 2004, the studio has already worked on titles like Star Citizen, HITMAN, Ryse: Son of Rome, and many others.
While we do not know about the nature of job being done by elite3D Studio, but maybe it has something to do with working on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 versions of the game – if there are any in the first place.
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered
Activision has already accepted considering remasters of earlier Call of Duty iterations and it appears like the process will begin with the ever-green Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.
According to a leaked image – that looks real authentic – Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will come in a Standard Edition and a Legacy Edition.
As the name suggests, the Legacy Edition of Call of Duty: IW will contain a copy of Call of Duty: 4g Modern Warfare remastered with 10 multiplayer maps and campaign. While we do not know whether Call of Duty: 4g Modern Warfare remastered will be sold separately or not, it will indeed be included in IW’s Legacy Edition.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Reveal, Release Date, Price
Activision has already confirmed that it will not be present at E3 2016 and Sony Computer Entertainment will showcase the new Call of Duty: this year. However, we are hoping to get an official trailer or something before E3 2016 – as it always has been the case – sometime around coming Tuesday.
Coming to the game’s release date, the very same poster which confirmed Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare remastered also has Nov. 04, 2016 as Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare release date.
Another interesting thing revealed by the said poster is that the game’s Standard Edition will cost $79.99 and the Legacy Edition will cost $109.99. Currently, the pricing details are unofficial and we do not know whether the pricing is in USD or whether the Standard Edition includes Season Pass or not!
