Mirror’s Edge Catalyst is Delayed Again
Fans of the beloved Mirror’s Edge franchise would be disappointed to learn that Mirror’s Edge Catalyst is delayed. New release date for the game is June 7 in North America and June 9 in Europe to further polish the game.
The news comes from official Mirror`s Edge website, where design director Erik Odeldahl announced:
To support the Social Play features, we are using a brand new online technology. We also want to make sure we have the opportunity and time to address player feedback from the Closed Beta. That is why we will give ourselves a bit more time to perfect the game, with a new release date for Mirror’s Edge Catalyst of June 7th (NA) and June 9th (EU). We’re confident that these extra two weeks will make sure the game is as amazing as possible for you the players.
Mirror’s Edge closed beta starts today and continues till 26 April 2016. Those who registered for closed beta will start receiving their beta codes through email.
Those who participate in closed beta and become Front Runners will have early access to exclusive content, in-game rewards and e-mails with important updates about the world of Mirror’s Edge Catalyst.
Participants will have access to some of the story missions, side missions and other optional content which is all part of the new “Social Play” function. The purpose for the beta is to test online functions of the game.
Social Play is the new online component for Mirror’s Edge Catalyst, through which players can create custom challenges in the vast open world of the game for other players all over the world to test their skills and become king of the leaderboards.
Mirror’s Edge Catalyst is a first person parkour game set to release for PC, Xbox one and PlayStation 4.
