DOOM open beta

Players who pre ordered Wolfenstein: The New Order played and tested Doom in a closed beta environment. However, soon, very soon, all players will be able to play Doom thanks to an open beta.

Bethesda has just revealed details of an open beta that is going to be held on April 15. It will last 3 days before ending on April 18, no codes are needed to access Doom open beta so all you need to do is download the client or use the one you already have from the closed beta.

Open beta will give you access to two game modes – Team Deathmatch and Warpath. You will also have access to two maps – Heatwave and Infernal.

As you know, Doom is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on May 13. Following its release there will be three different pieces of DLC released for it. The first DLC pack will include:

  • Three new maps
  • One new weapon
  • One new playable demon
  • One new armour set
  • One new piece of equipment
  • New hack modules and taunts
  • New customization colours and patterns

Needles to say player base will be divided into those who have this content and those who don’t when it comes to matchmaking.  Players of Doom will get free updates like maps, game modes and SnapMap level editor.

If you are interested in the Season Pass for Doom you can pick it up for £30/$40.

On a related note, Bethesda has announced an E3 press conference and we are expecting The Elder Scrolls 6 to be announced during the event. Also, a release date for Dishonored 2 along with some gameplay is expected to be present.
