Xbox One and a Half Rumors Debunked by Phil Spencer
Amidst all the rumors about an Xbox One and a Half, and the expected plan of Microsoft moving forward, a number of people were thinking that SIE’s alleged PlayStation 4K might have triggered plans among their ranks.
However, the guy responsible for everything Xbox, Phil Spencer says that he doesn’t like the idea of working with consoles like software updates and that they would rather move to the next generation when they have to instead of something like this.
Xbox One And A Half Reality Check
This would be the reality check because Phil Spencer is the head of Microsoft’s Xbox division and unless you are expecting him to leave in a hurry, his word should tell you what is possible and what is not.
That being said, Spencer in a number of words, has clarified that Microsoft would rather take the full step forward to the next generation instead of following in line with PlayStation 4K.
After all, it is not like anything can be named in the same vein as Two and a Half Men.
I’m not a big fan of Xbox One and a half. If we’re going to move forward, I want to move forward in big numbers. I don’t know anything about any of the rumors that are out there, but I can understand other teams’ motivations to do that. For us, our box is doing well. It performs, it’s reliable, the servers are doing well. If we’re going to go forward with anything, like I said, I want it to be a really substantial change for people – an upgrade.
Xbox Four, K?
So if Xbox One and a Half doesn’t sound like a viable option at hand, are we back to Xbox Two, or whatever they would call it?
