New Xbox One Deal Offers a Console for $200 with Trade-in
GameStop is offering an Xbox One deal to any gamers that are wanting to make the jump to the Xbox One but don’t have enough money to get the console. The retail gaming store is offering to strike a hundred dollars off of the purchase price of the console if you bring in an old Xbox 360 or Playstation 3 to the store to trade in.
The deal, which is available on GameStop’s website, specifies that the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 have to be newer models (320 gigabyte or higher slim Xbox or PS3) in order for the Xbox One deal to be valid.
The consoles also have to have every component required for them to run, and for said components to be in working order. However, the deal also extends to defective consoles, though they will only be tradable for less than the $100 dollars that functioning consoles are.
With sales of the Xbox One flagging far behind the Playstation 4, Microsoft is doing everything they can to boost sales of the console, including having a spring sale on some of the most popular games on the market right now. Compared to the Playstation 4’s thirty-five million, the Xbox One’s eighteen million sales need a much-needed boost.
Several highly-anticipated games are either on the market now or coming up quickly for the Xbox One, such as Dark Souls 3 (which is also available on the Playstation 4) and Remedy Entertainment’s new game Quantum Break, which is also available on PC.
With the Playstation 3 now completely out of production, and the Xbox 360 slowly being removed from the gaming scene through lack of support and new games that won’t be coming out for it (such as Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, which gave the console the multiplayer mode but not the single-player), will slowly be pushing last-gen gamers into the current generation.
