The Final Fantasy franchise has always managed to visually impress in its respective eras of release, and Final Fantasy XV will be no exception when it comes to its graphics.

Even the likes of the heavily criticized Final Fantasy XIII were fairly impressive in their presentation and graphic fidelity, with lush colors, beautiful environments, and awesome characters.

Final Fantasy XV will look to set a new visual standard though, and in order to do it Square Enix is working with Umbra to enhance the graphics of the game. For those unaware, Umbra is an organization that specialize in 3D graphic content. They create special optimized database from 3D data which makes the processing and rendering of 3D graphics much more efficient.

The technology is well-known to combine with several engines that are featured in titles like Destiny, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, and also the upcoming Xbox One and PC title Quantum Break.

However, unlike Final Fantasy XV, these games tend to use third party middleware solutions. Square Enix on the other hand is develop FFXV on proprietary technology of their own. It remains to be seen how the final version of the game will run and work when it comes out, but so far it seems to be quite the looker.

Final Fantasy XV will launch this year on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The pre-orders of the game will start from March 31. It has been rumored that the game will release on September 30, though the exact confirmed date is expected to be revealed by the end of this month.
