Star Wars Battlefront VR is Exclusive to PlayStation VR
Sony has announced that Star Battlefront VR is going to be an exclusive game for PlayStation VR. Players will get to play this game only on Sony’s upcoming VR device.
Sony made the announcement on Twitter:
Star Wars Battlefront experience coming only to PlayStation VR — more news to come in the months ahead
— PlayStation (@PlayStation) March 15, 2016
Unfortunately, Sony didn’t mention any details about Star Wars Battlefront VR experience. We are also not sure if this would be a timed exclusive or will it appear on PC for Oculus rift and Gear VR as well.
Battlefront VR was revealed at a press event Sony held recently to show us more of PlayStation VR. The company provided us with details on its price and release window as well.
According to Sony, PlayStation VR will retail for $400.
That is exactly as much as the original price of PlayStation 4. If you remeber, months ago Andrew House told us that PlayStation VR will cost as much as a new console, it means he pretty much had confirmed the price a long time ago.
Now for the release of PSVR, Sony announced that PlayStation VR will release in October, this in line with GameStop CEO’s statement saying that they will start shipping PlayStation VR in late 2016. Previously, we believed that PS VR would arrive in the first quarter of 2016.
Some sales stats were also present at the event, Sony revealed that PlayStation 4 has sold 36 million units across the globe. It is constantly selling out Xbox One in the U.S and other regions.
PlayStation 4 combined with PlayStation VR could very well become the best place to play for VR players. Right now, it is the cheapest VR hardware.
If you go with a PC and Oculus Rift/Gear VR the all-in cost could touch $2000.
