GTA 5: Lindsay Lohan’s Lawsuit Advanced Against Take Two Interactive
Lindsay Lohan suing other is nothing new, and even the news about her claim against Take Two Interactive is old. However, in an interesting turn of events, her lawsuit against the GTA 5 makers has been advanced by a New York based judge.
She started off by alleging that the cover girl for the game resembled her and that she would sue the publisher for it. Back in July 2014 she did just that, and sued Take Two Interactive.
However, in legal matters suing someone doesn’t constitute to much until a judge has advanced the case deeming it fit for hearing. Lucky for her, a New York Supreme Court judge Joan Kennedy did that for her a couple of days ago.
The Lindsay Lohan vs Take Two Interactive lawsuit will now proceed.
While hearing her claim of a photo of her’s being misused in GTA 5, the judge also denied a motion forwarded by the lawyers of Take Two where they had insisted on a legal exception be used where a case cannot be filed if the claimant takes too long to get it registered with a court. Judge Kennedy says:
Defendants have not been able to prove, at this juncture of the litigation, that the republication exception to the one year statute of limitations is not applicable to this case because the intended audiences were the same as those of the original publication and the images consistently remained the same.
The funny part is that tons of GTA 5, Rockstar Games and Take Two Interactive fans have taken to Twitter making fun of her decision to file a case with the hashtag #LindsayIsNuts. Here are some of the best ones.
