Portal and Half Life Movie is Still in Development, Says J.J. Abrams

J.J. Abrams has assured the fans that the Portal movie and the Half Life movie are still in development, writers are working on it but you'll have to wait.

The Portal Movie and the Half Life Movie have been in the news since as long ago as three years. Back in February 2013, it was revealed that the two films were in early stages of development at the hands of the iconic J.J. Abrams, but everything has been quiet since then.

This gave off the impression that the studios might have killed the projects and moved on to something else. However, thanks to the Star Wars famed director we have new hope for them.

J.J. Abrams was recently interviewed where they asked him about the state of development of both the movies and if he had any update to give to the fans.

Sadly, he says that there is no “exciting update” to share with the fans regarding the Portal Movie as well as the Half Life Movie; both of them, nonetheless, are still in development and Abrams says that he does have writers working on the projects.

Not yet, but they’re in development. And we’ve got writers, and we’re working on both those stories. But nothing that would be an exciting update.

Well, we might not be getting any news, trailers or other details on them yet, but that comment at least suggests that right now the filmmakers are writing the story and script. This means there is still some time to go.

Both the Portal movie and the Half Life movie are going to be a joint project of Valve Corporation and Abrams as him and Gabe Newell had shown interest in making movies based on Valve’s properties a couple of years back.

Thanks, IGN.
