Need for Speed Trial Available on Origin Access

EA Origin Access is offering free Need for Speed Trial. You will need an Origin Access subscription to play the game on PC.

EA is offering Need for Speed Trial to PC users on Origin. If you are a member of Origin Access, a service similar to EA Access on Xbox One, than Need for Speed is available to you for free.

The game was released on Xbox One last year. Need for Speed PC version is slated for next week so Origin Access is giving you an opportunity to try it out ahead of launch.

The PC version comes with an unlocked framerate and support for up to 4K resolution if your hardware is up for it. Speaking of hardware, you will need the following specs to run the latest Need for Speed game.

Minimum Requirements for 720p30 at low settings

  • OS: 64-bit Windows 7 or later
  • Processor: Intel Core i3-4130 or equivalent with 4 hardware threads
  • Memory: 6GB RAM
  • Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB, AMD Radeon HD 7850 2GB, or equivalent DX11 compatible
  • GPU with 2GB of memory
  • Hard Drive: 30GB free space
  • Input: Keyboard and mouse, Xbox One controller

Recommended Requirements for 1080p60 at high settings

  • OS: 64-bit Windows 7 or later
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-4690 or equivalent with 4 hardware threads
  • Memory: 8GB RAM
  • Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 4GB, AMD Radeon R9 290 4GB, or equivalent DX11 compatible
  • GPU with 4GB of memory
  • Hard Drive: 30GB free space
  • Input: Keyboard and mouse, Xbox One controller

Need for Speed 2015 released after a break in 2014, which the series really benefitted from. The series was suffering from franchise fatigue and we hope EA rethinks its release cycle for Need for Speed. Annualizing it again may cause similar issues.
