Shadow Moses Project is Cancelled, No Reason Given Yet
Sad news for Metal Gear Solid fans, it looks like the Shadow Moses Project is cancelled. The reason behind it has been revealed as reasons beyond the developers control.
The Shadow Moses Project was in development to recreate the original Metal Gear Solid in the Unreal Engine 4. Today on their Facebook Page the developers have revealed that they have had to cancel the project:
We have an important announcement to make today:
We have to cancel the Shadow Moses Project for reasons beyond our control.
We would like to thank everyone for the tremendous support we have received.
Shadow Moses team.”
This will be sad news for fans looking forward to seeing where the Shadow Moses Project was leading, and fans have been venting their annoyance on the page. There is also plenty of speculation that Konami are behind this cancellation, which would come as no surprise as they own the rights to the game.
With the news that the Shadow Moses Project is cancelled speculation could start on if Konami have their own plans to do a remake, and don’t want this remake to get in the way. This is a very speculative statement of course, as Konami have not shown any sign of working on this.
If Konami is behind this cancellation, it will be another twist in their dramatic few years surrounding Metal Gear Solid and the leaving of Hideo Kojima. This will also be yet another reasons for fans to be aggravated by the company even if they have every right to protect their intellectual property.
