Uncharted 4 Delayed for a Couple of Weeks, Manufacturing Time Needed
Uncharted 4 delayed! This is something we are hearing for the third time, right? But as they say, good things come to those who wait.
Naughty Dog has once again delayed Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. It was suppose to release back in 2015 but was delayed to March 2016. Close to its March release it was pushed to April and now it is delayed to May.
According to Naughty Dog, the title is on track for going Gold but they need just a little more time. Uncharted 4 will now release on May 10 on PlayStation 4.
The good news is that the delay isn’t due to any bugs or issues that need to be sorted out. As we know, Uncharted 4 is going to be one of the biggest releases of 2016 and initial rush of demand is going to be through the roof. Naughty Dog wants to be prepared for it.
They need time to produce enough product.
As you know, Naughty Dog is wrapping up production on Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End with the game on track to go gold and into production later this month. In an effort to meet the considerable worldwide demand, and to ensure that all gamers worldwide have the opportunity to play the game on day one, we have chosen to postpone the launch of the game by two weeks to allow for extra manufacturing time.
Uncharted 4’s development process wasn’t the smoothest but devs managed to pull it off after the departure of Amy Henning, a long time Uncharted veteran. She left ND to work on Star Wars.
Since she left, Uncharted 4’s story went through major changes which we think contributed to its 2015 delay. Thankfully, the process is complete and now all that’s left is to manufacture as many copies as they can.
