Street Fighter V Server Disconnect Interrupts Local Finals Game Mid-Fight
Fans of Street Fighter V will know the annoyance of server problems. When the Street Fighter V server disconnect interrupts local finals game though? Then it becomes more of an issue.
This is exactly what has happened, as reported by Shoryuken and can actually be viewed on the Twitch archived video. Street Fighter V has had its issues during the initial release period but now the servers are more stable. Obviously though there will be some times when there are server interruptions.
As a player of Street Fighter V, this shows the big problem with server interruptions that I myself have experienced. Instead of just showing up a small message to let you know the server has issues, it pulls you out of the fight entirely. This happens even if you are fighting in Survival, local multiplayer or Story Mode.
Hopefully Capcom are aware that this is annoying and will fix it in a future update. The fact the Street Fighter V server disconnect interrupts local finals game like this is bad publicity may push them to make changes. Yes, it may be arguable that this is a badly designed system, but it is also one that should be able to be changed after feedback from the community.
How could this have been prevented in the local finals game? Simply to have been offline, which is fair, until Capcom fix it at least. The system should be designed to have the least impact on players during the game, especially one that is aimed at professional tournament situations.
