When releasing a trailer, games companies want to create impact and get attention. It was highly doubtful that Assassin’s Creed concept art in Uncharted 4 would be the attention Naughty Dog wanted.

There was a time that the use of concept art would be seen as a “homage” but today it looks like those days are gone. After the trailer was released online today, Ubisoft noticed something interesting and were not slow at revealing just what it was:

Not only was the concept art noticed, but the fact the character was removed was also noticed too:

So how do we take Assassin’s Creed 4 concept art in Uncharted 4? It is something of a mystery, and Jonathan Cooper, who used to work at Ubisoft (on Assassin’s Creed) and now works for Naughty Dog on Uncharted 4 did take notice of the “drama” in his Tweet:

Did Naughty Dog intentionally use Ubisoft’s artwork in their game? This will remain a mystery that only the two companies can solve. If anything, it could all be a manipulation of the games press by the two companies. It gets Uncharted 4 more attention, and also starts conversations about Assassin’s Creed.
