Despite absolutely nothing on the game’s development progress for quite a long time; it appears Capcom’s PS4 exclusive Deep Down is not yet dead.

Originally discovered by DualShockers; on Feb. 05, 2016, Capcom applied for another extension (4th to be precise) of the game’s trademark with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. According to the extension application, Capcom is still trying to ‘continues its efforts in conducting product and/or service research or development with respect to the allowed good and services.’

The report further states with the said extension, Capcom is heading into the last year of the trademark since the legal limit is 5 and a company’s extension application only lasts for 6 months. By this calculation, Capcom needs to use the name by February 2017 or it will be lost from them.
